Capstone Unity - Distributed Legacy Data Management
Capstone Unity is the next logical progression of the Capstone Legacy
DataView Repository. While Capstone was designed to be Multi-System /
Multi-Site capable within one Capstone database and fit nicely into a single
hospital/practice setting, this posed a validation challenge for larger
networks where major systems (Cerner, Meditech, EPIC) were being rolled out
across their network of hospitals over time. Sites that went live on
Capstone early in the network rollout would be impacted with validation
efforts of legacy systems data from hospitals brought online months or
years later.
Capstone Unity allows each site to implement their own
version of Capstone at theiir site, on thier schedule, and with their
specific legacy systems. Capstone Unity, with our Patient Association
Algorithms, allows a clinician to view a combined patient record from all
Capstone systems across the network that may contain legacy data on that
patient. No individual Capstone needs to go down for validation when other
hospital legacy systems are added.
